FM01: Electron-phonon coupling in a lattice of topologically protected states

Profesor Encargado: Francisco Muñoz

Vacantes: 3 estudiantes

Some years ago, we published a simple model of a superlattice created by the residual coupling between topologically protected states [1]. Eventually the model was experimentally created with carbon nanorribbons, inducing a narrow metallic band, from the coupling of such topological modes, right at the Fermi level [2].

This internship is to explore how the electron-phonon coupling affects that superlattice of topological modes.

Two places are for studying the theoretical models, and one place is for numerical simulations of the actual nanoribbon hosting these exotic modes.
